Head Start Teacher
Support education opportunities for children and families by assisting, providing and implementing a quality developmentally appropriate preschool experience for children enrolled. Conduct home visits with families to emphasize the home as the child’s primary learning environment. Requirements: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or related degree – related education degrees evaluated on a case-by-case basis using transcripts. Parents as Teachers Parent Educator (Home Visitor)
This position works in partnership with families in their home to meet their unique needs through strengths-based assessment and goal-setting. This position works with pregnant mothers, and parents who have children birth to five years of age to understand child growth and development and to enhance their role as their child’s first and lifelong teacher. Emphasis is placed on the home being the child’s primary learning environment. Position is 35 hours a week (hours can be flexible).
Substitute Assistant Teachers
Used in an on-call/as needed basis. Support education opportunities for children and families by assisting the Head Start Teacher in providing and implementing a quality developmentally appropriate preschool experience for children enrolled. Minimum requirement: High School Diploma/Equivalent* and desire to work professionally with young children. *Must agree to working toward and receiving a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within 12-months of first date of hire unless a 2-year degree in early childhood education/development is already accomplished. Substitutes are not eligible for traditional employee benefits. They are however, eligible for holiday pay under certain conditions.
